Micke Johansson & Wilhelm Vernim - The Glass Furnace

At The Glass Furnace in Istanbul, Swedish artist Micke Johansson and German artist Wilhelm Vernim came together for the first time to create collaborative works and share their expertise. The workshops explored Graal, Ariel, Double Ariel, and engraving techniques, merging tradition with experimentation. Participants moved between the hot and cold shops, discovering different stages of glassmaking from glassblowing to pattern-making with Graal and Ariel, as well as engraving and sandblasting. Guided directly by the two masters, they gained advanced skills and a deeper understanding of contemporary glass art.
